This rustic 4oz double espresso mug is a perfect way to start your busy day. The clay used has a beautiful toasty colour with dark flecks which interact with the cream glaze, resulting in stunning brown streaks. Each mug is finished with a delicate ammonite fossil sprig near the base — a small handmade detail inspired by the natural world.

The details:
- Holds 4oz — perfectly sized for a double espresso or an after-dinner treat
- Approx. 6cm wide x 6 tall (excluding handle)
- Beautiful cream glaze with dark brown speckles
- Finished with a hand-applied ammonite sprig detail near the base
- Dishwasher and microwave safe for easy everyday use
- Available in other colourways — pop into my shop to see the full range!

Why you'll love it
This mug is a lovely little treat for any coffee lover — the ammonite sprig is a nice extra touch for anyone who likes a bit of nature in their everyday things. It's a lovely birthday, housewarming, wedding, or anniversary gift for family and friends who appreciate handmade treasures — why not buy a matching set? Or maybe just a treat for yourself.

Need more stock, or something bespoke?
If you don't see enough in stock, or fancy a custom colour, just message me — made-to-order pieces usually take a few weeks and I'll always confirm a timeframe first.

How it's made
Every piece is thrown by hand by me, in my home studio in Bedfordshire. Each pot is shaped, left to dry to leather-hard, trimmed, and handles pulled and carefully attached as necessary. Once fully dry, each piece is bisque fired to over 1000°C and cooled for around 12 hours, then glazed (with up to 8 brushed-on coats of glaze to build those painterly effects). Finally, the piece undergoes a glaze firing to 1180°C, followed by another 12-hour cool-down. Start to finish, the whole process can take 3 to 6 weeks, a little longer in colder, damper months.

A note on handmade variation
Because each piece is made by hand, you may notice small differences in glaze and size from mug to mug — that's not a flaw, it's the joy of owning something one-of-a-kind.

Caring for your mug
This mug is dishwasher and microwave safe for everyday ease, but hand washing will keep the glaze looking its best over the long run — totally your call!

Kind to the planet too
Every order is packaged using recyclable and biodegradable materials — no unnecessary plastic, just careful, planet-friendly packing so your mug arrives safe and sound.
